Servebolt allows you to purchase SSL certificates right from within the Servebolt Control Panel. For every domain name on your Bolt, you can purchase SSL certificates.
We provide two different types of certificates:
- Sectigo certificates. Certificates with an operational guarantee, 1 year validity and also available as wild-card certificates.
- Self-signed. These are not for public web use, but can be used behind Cloudflare for full encryption, but they don’t work with Cloudflare’s full strict option, or without Cloudflare.

These certificates can be ordered with with one click from any site on any Bolt. Navigate to the site. On the next screen, you find the DOMAINS section where you’ll find an overview of the domains you’ve added to the Site. Click on the SSL Settings option below page in the Control Panel.
Sectigo SSL Certificates are issued for one year, and they are automatically configured to auto-renew. If you’d like to stay in control yourself, you can switch off auto-renewal by changing the settings for the certificate from the SSL page in your Bolt.
If a certificate is up for renewal, which is an automated background task. There may be a period of up to two weeks where changing the state is not possible. If this is the case, you’ll be presented with a message stating so.
If you’re experiencing issues or if you have any questions about the process or one of your site’s certificates, don’t hesitate to reach out to us and we’d love to help you get to the bottom of this.
