Why was SSL only issued for one domain?

In our Control Panel we have made it possible to order a SSL certificate through us. After you’ve added a domain you should see an “Enable SSL” button under it and that is where you can put in the order.

Usually this is pretty straightforward and the certificate will automatically be installed for both the root and www domain. But sometimes you can end up seeing that only one version has been installed.

This happens when the SSL provider can verify that one of the domains is on the server but the other one isn’t. So two important things to check before ordering is to:

  • Have both domains added to our Control Panel
  • Check that both domains are pointing to the same IP

If you’ve done this but still see the certificate only being installed for one domain, contact our support at servebolt.com and we’ll help you further!
